For almost as long as I can remember I have felt a pretty intense pull to INDIA.
I am not entirely sure why, but I am not about to challenge my internal happiness, hopes and dreams.
For about 5 years I have found myself making “Excuses” as to why this year won’t work, maybe next year…I have too much going on this year, I can’t possibly make a trip that big happen… Who could I possibly get to come with me?
It’s a big flight, it’s not cheap. Blah Blah Blah.
It’s a lengthy trip ( at least 2 weeks) and not everybody has the ability to just take time off work as they please., ( and really I shouldn’t assume my clients feel as open to this idea as I do , lol)
Last week I started thinking AGAIN about India. I chatted with both Corey and Serena about it, and both are excited to be a part of the amazing adventure….. in the next 1-2 years.
Sunday, last Sunday I realized as much as I love both Corey and Serena, and I do, very much. I needed to do this trip alone, and I needed to do it this year.
Since Sunday, I have cried about 47 times out of pure joy and overwhelming excitement because NOVEMBER 1, 2016 I am flying to Kolkata.
I am beginning my trip with 3 days of volunteer work with MOTHER THERESA’S HOME FOR THE DYING AND DESTITUDE, in the heart of Kolkata.
Kolkata, also known as the “City of Joy” or the “City of Palaces” as well as the ONLY city in India with hand held rickshaws… which is exactly how I will travel from my hotel to Mother Theresa’s shelter.
I found this shelter in the documentary HAPPY, and knew that this MUST be a part of my adventure through India.
From Kolkata I am flying to what looks to be one of the most beautiful and spiritual places in the country, Varanasi, known to be the oldest city in the world and to my hearts happiness is the birth place of Yoga and Ayurveda.
Here I will sit by the holy GANGES river, photograph everything, practice yoga and eating amazing food.
From Varanasi, I fly to Goa where I will finish with a 7 day Yoga retreat living in a beach hut experiencing my happiest self.
Goa, not that I will be taking advantage of them but is home to over 7000 liscenced bars… 7000 LOL
Over 30% of Goa is forest land and is home to the countries FIRST english school.
I welcome anyone with love and excitement for this country to please comment with ideas and stories of your own travels…
The world is meant to be travelled and experienced.
